More Info

When reporting a violation of bright.net's spam policy, you must send us the full message header. To find out who really sent an email and get the full message headers, follow the steps above. If the sender is a bright.net user (see below), copy and paste the entire message into an email to abuse@bright.net. bright.net will do everything in it's power to stop mass spammers from sending email on bright.net IP's. This includes suspending/shutting off accounts.

How to tell if the sender is a bright.net user

In the full headers, look at the "Received" line. The IP address found on this line usually the "originating" IP address. You can trace this address at http://www.arin.net/whois. When the results come back, you will see the name of the provider. Most providers have an "abuse" address to send complaints to (ex. abuse@bright.net), but should you be unable locate an address to send the complaint to, a lookup is available at http://abuse.net/lookup.phtml.
