Be Saved
[ Bottom of Page ]
Reaching forth...
You may go to heaven without church, health, wealth, fame, learning, beauty, friends, 10,000 other things. But You Can Never Go To Heaven Without Christ. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Him.
If you are not saved—this is foolish to you (Hos.8:12; 1Cor.2:14). My heart goes out for you, and you can’t understand.
For you to be saved, you must come to Jesus. Jesus said, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him” (John 6:44). In Romans 3:11 we read, “There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” There must be a work by the Holy Spirit.
There is a voluntary element in salvation. We are not drawn against our will (Ps.11O:3). “Man is as much drawn willingly, as if he were not drawn at all; and he comes to Christ with full consent, with as full a consent as if no secret influence had ever been exercised in his heart. But that influence must be exercised, or else there never has been and there never will be, any man who either can or will come to the Lord Jesus Christ” (C. H. S). Salvation is of the Lord!
The Word tells us, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” (Isa.45:22). Look to Jesus Christ and live! He receives sinners. If He did not receive sinners, where would you be? What would become of you? Jesus Saves!
A point to be made, some are told they are saved when they are not. A person who is a child of God does not need to be told that by a well meaning man. However, contrast that with the truth we are begotten by the preaching of the word, with assurance given one with doubts, that assurance given through the testimony of the word.
Romans 10:17
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
KJV1 Peter 1:23
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
KJVJohn 6:63
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
KJVHeb 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
KJVJames 1:18
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
KJV1 Peter 1:25
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
KJVJohn 15:3
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
KJVJohn 17:17
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
KJV
While this is not always easy to distinguish for the onlooker, conviction of sin and of the power of God is not the same as salvation. While claims of salvation are not a cloak to cover sin as though an excuse to allow sin, we are left with sin that dwells in us, that is in our flesh after we are saved. While we might see our failures, be certain our Lord has never failed.
Acts 2:21
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
KJVRom 10:13
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
KJVJohn 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
KJV
As is the case, we are not granted access to another's heart, and I for one am somewhat glad of that. Also, just for the sake of mentioning the point, we are not the ones that grant salvation.
While in this life we will find we face trials and troubles, the world to come is our home (1Cor 15:19). Now we live and have hope in Christ, and hold our faith and hope fast. It is Christ that died for our sins.
Hebrews 11:16
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
KJV
I hope you know the Joy of knowing Him, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, you await His return: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls (1 Peter 1:3-9).
