Reaching forth...

By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...

The authority of the written word is of major importance. It is written, faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the word of God. Our faith is initially the work of God (John 6:29), wrought in us by the new birth. Faith is fruit of the Spirit, therefore one must be born again to have faith. With subsequent conversion and hearing the preached word, our faith grows. Our subsequent conversions, growth and sanctification is through hearing the word, and therefore it matters what is heard, and good doctrine should be sought (1Tim 4:6; Tit 2:7).

Our faith:

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Our conversions, growth and sanctification:

2 Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Luke 1:3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, 4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

The written word is shown to be of great importance, and the certainty of that word is given a prominent place of importance. Little wonder Satan has made an attack on the certainty of the word of God, a frontal attack along with subtil maneuvers. The sure word of God makes clear, “Thus saith the LORD....” and “It is written...”

Look at these precious certain promises:

No birth defects, no disease, no injury, the saved shall be raised incorruptible:

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The saved shall have an inheritance incorruptible:

1 Peter 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

The saved are begotten of God:

In the Bible, regarding our regeneration, it is written, Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (1Pet 1:23-25) Paul gives warning the word of God can be corrupted (2Cor 2:17), not that our Authorized version is corrupted, and if it were but it is not, we are born again, not by corruptible, but by incorruptible, by the Holy Spirit. Salvation is all of God, and we are kept by the power of God (1Cor 3:7).

Christ Himself is incorruptible (Heb 1:12; 13:8) (same yesterday today forever), so their is confirmation the rebirth is not accomplished by the hearing of the word that is preached, but rather, one is born of God Himself (Eph 2:1; Tit 3:5; 1John 2:29; 5:1; John 1:13; Rom 2:28-29). Having been born of the Holy Ghost, faith is fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22). One is born again, by the Spirit. The new birth imparts Eternal Life and new desires (Ps 110:3; 37:31; 1John 3:6,9; 5:18; Ps 119:165; 2Cor 5:17; Eze 36:26; John 3:6; 10:28; Tit 1:2; 3:7; Rom 12:3). Regeneration is accomplished without the use of means, and there is conversion wrought by that new birth, while subsequent conversion is expected to be accomplished by the use of means, such as the written word or preaching. The word is corrupted by some while they preach, and by others by the various translations, and by yet others through incorrectly recording them through printed sermons. While there are faulty readings, contradictions, that is no concern regarding our being regenerated. It is not to be denied there are various and sundry contradictory readings, but our regeneration, our being born again, is of the Holy Ghost apart from any means. Regeneration and conversion are separate and distinct.

By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...

A message of comfort from the Scriptures, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Come and hear, all ye that fear God,
and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Psalms 66:16
