By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There is a multitude of Scripture that encourage “whosoever will” to come to Christ, and further, it is clearly said, him that cometh to [Christ] will in no wise be cast out. Let the sorry ones that display platitudes and barriers, forbidding those that would come, to have their day. As for me, I will rejoice in Christ my Saviour, knowing that He receives sinners, even the chief of sinners. There is no passage of Scripture that one needs to stop by, as if it were the end of a matter, but instead take the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27). Preach the word of God, not the tales of men. Stay in the word. Take those passages that are open and plain, and they need not be blocked by the dark and obscure. Listen to the call, for Christ receives sinners. Whosoever will. . .

John 6:37, 40
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Matt 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The Scriptures show there is willingness, with resultant joy as regards coming to Christ. I must say, when I came to Christ, I wanted to, my being willing.

Coming to God, one, you must believe that he is, and two, you must believe that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Seeing greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, this man coming to God had respect unto the recompense of the reward. He wanted to come to God.

Hebrews 11:26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

These received the word, gladly they received it, their coming to Christ

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

These were glad, and were saved and they knew it

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

These received the word of faith, their coming to Christ with joy, not indifference or platitude

1 Thess 1:6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

Christ receives sinners. . .

Man's will is free according to the dictates of his own nature. No man comes to Christ apart from being willing, ergo, no man is saved against his will, and man has a will of his own. No man is saved unaware, but must come to Christ of their own will, with repentance and faith. It is discovered, that man either loves sin to the perishing of their soul, or instead repents, hates sin, and comes to Christ by faith, willingly, because they want to.

Before they were saved, all were by nature the children of wrath, so there is none that dare say they are better than others. These mentioned in Revelation 17:17 acted according to their nature, and had a will of their own. Did they have free will same as any other? yes, I think so. They never wanted to come to Christ, they never repented, and finally they received the just reward for their actions, IMHO. With this it is said God put it in their heart to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, yet they acted in accordance with their nature and their will, therefore were responsible to God for the ungodliness, IMHO.

Revelation 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

Those that speak about a person being saved apart from their willingness, have, IMO, stumbled over a head full of improper equation apart from proper understanding, and have failed to preach the simplicity that is in Christ. No doubt they must make their living with religion, for men will believe anything where religion is concerned, but it is certain such ones that work the wrong equations would not make it in the business world, and would not make it in the scientific community.

Now, what happens when a person is born again? Of them, one, it is said they are believers in Christ (1 John 5:1), and with that being said, apart from repentance and faith none is truly a believer in Christ; plus, two, they are said to have a new nature.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

How is that to be explained? In my opinion, it is explained by preaching the word, and not stopping along the way to advance one thing or another. When a person is saved, they know they are saved, and they have come to Christ willing, and were received with joy. The testimony of Romans 8:16 is a private matter, between a man and the Holy Spirit, and no man mediates between.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

2 Corinthians 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

1 John 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Ones salvation testimony must show evidence of repentance and faith. If that portion of the testimony is not there, he shows no evidence that he has life in Christ. Apart from repentance and faith a person is not in Christ, they have never come to Christ, and if he has not come to Christ he has not been saved.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

1 John 3:19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The Bible teaches us about salvation. That can be understood by us. The Bible tells us so (John. 3:15, 18, 36; 1Jo. 3:5, 19; 5:10-13, 20). When we see the momentous and easy to understand we don't want to pass it by (Heb. 2:3; 10:29).

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

1 John 3:19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

1 John 5:10-13
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Ye may know. . .

A message of comfort from the Scriptures,
that we through patience and comfort
of the scriptures might have hope.

Come and hear, all ye that fear God,
and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
