Christ Died For Our Sins
Reaching forth...

By God's grace, still presenting the same message from the same Book...

God has called us to peace and righteousness. The Scriptures tell us what is right, and what is wrong, and we are to obey, walk in paths of righteousness. Our Lord leads His own in paths of righteousness, for His names sake. We are called to obey that form of doctrine delivered unto us.

Psalms 23:1-6
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Rom 6:13-22
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

God's word shows a division of people, but the world melds all together.

The Scriptures support Galatians 5:12 as it reads "cut off" and we are told to compare spiritual things with spiritual.

1 Cor 2:12-14
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

John 6:63
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Heb 10:38-39
38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

We have words to tell us right and wrong.

Rom 12:18
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

What are we to follow after which makes for peace? The Scriptures.

Ps 119:104-105
104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Ps 119:11
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Rom 14:19
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

The confusion of each doing what is right in their own eyes, and thinking to join light with darkness is not of God.

1 Cor 14:33
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Today confusion is the order, as everyone does that right in their own eyes, and that is shown in the churches by the lack of discipline. Hirelings, trained choreographers, those tickling the ears of the deceived is the order of the day. But that is not what God has called us to.

2 Cor 13:11
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Gal 5:22
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Paul was clear in saying some had not the knowledge of God because of the corrupt lives of some professing faith.

We are not to be sound in word only, but also in deed.

1 Cor 15:33-34
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Heb 12:13
13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

When all turn to their own way the fruit of righteousness is not shown, the words of God are not adorned.

Isaiah 32:17
17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

James 3:17-18
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

1 Cor 5:11-13
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Let the peace of God rule in your hearts. That is fruit of righteousness, obedience to the word of life. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.

Col 3:15-16
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

It is through the Spirit the deeds of the flesh are mortified, not by the blade of a knife or self-conflagration. Flagellation after the flesh is not a practice for the Christian, not Christian doctrine.

Rom 8:13
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Destruction of the flesh is left to Satan, and not the church. The believer should hope for their repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ezek 33:11 KJB; 2 Pet 3:9 KJB) We are not left to each do what is right in our own eyes. For example, if the Scripture says, cut them off, those that say to simply allow them to leave if they want could not be correct. That would allow the ones causing trouble to continue to cause trouble. If the Scripture actually says in a verse to mutilate a person, and it does not, but if it did it would not be correct to claim that as hyperbole, or claim it simply means allow them to mutilate themselves if they want. And such words, whether hyperbole or literal, would not stop the trouble maker from spreading poison. If the Scripture says to cut that person off, not to have further fellowship with them, that they not spread trouble, troubling others and spreading corruption, it would not be correct to simply allow the trouble, unless the person wanted to stop spreading the trouble.

Gal 5:12
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Self mutilation, flagellation is not a practice for the holy believer:

1 Kings 18:28
28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

The King James version Bible does not tell you to beat or pummel, flagellate the flesh, but rather to walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:16)

Galatians 5:16
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulful the lust of the flesh.

1 Cor 9:27
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Not by the blade and not by beating the flesh, but through the Spirit is shown from Holy Scripture.

2 Tim 3:5
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Jude 18-19
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

It follows,

Galatians 5:16
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulful the lust of the flesh.

We are to be led of the Spirit of God, and not the works of the flesh.

Rom 8:13-14
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Where the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense. It makes no sense at all for a believer to wring their hands, hoping an apostate heretic would stop braying lies.

Another place to look is 1 Timothy 6:5. Galatians 5:12 says cut them off, and 1 Timothy 6:5 says withdraw from them.

1 Timothy 6:5
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

2 Corinthians 6:14
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Come and hear, all ye that fear God,
and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Psalms 66:16
