Reaching forth...

By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...

Election and Bearing Good Fruit

Bear Good Fruit:

Matthew 7:17-20
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

This brief study has to do with a study of the Scriptures.

Our being elect does not lead to a bed of ease, but instead to diligence. If God has made us His chosen, we ought to be diligent to be choice men. If indeed ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious, then live for Him that died for you. Has Christ loved you? Then keep His commandments. The ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

From The List Of Scriptures Dealing With Election, Two Point Are:

Election:

1 ) Should Lead To Cultivation Of Graces

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

2) Should Be Evidenced By Diligence

2 Peter 1:10
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

A message of comfort from the Scriptures,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
