Reaching forth...
By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...
Everlasting Life
There are things that we might not understand at the first, and we all are at different places in understanding. We are told, grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. First a person must be saved, than they have growth. This short lesson will be helpful toward understanding I hope.
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
When we come to understand one thing, then the Lord teaches us another. Ponder these things and if all is not understood at first keep the scriptures and see what they say. The Scriptures remind us, it is here a little and there a little that we come to understand things.
Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
First a person must be saved, than they have growth. When a person is saved they receive the Holy Ghost, i.e., are sealed.
When a person is saved, the Holy Spirit abides with them, forever. This does not refer to any special manifestation of an experience as some might want and some falsely teach. Some errantly strive for an experience that leaves them with only an experience.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
This helps explain being indwelt with the Spirit
The abundant life of John 10:10.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Vitality, the life force- Lk 18.30
John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
More vitality than is needed. Life for ever and ever. More than is necessary, abundant, superior, excellence, pre-eminence of vitality. Eternal life, life, literal, spiritual. Eternal is used of Christ the source of this life we receive John 5.26
The believer has everlasting life.
John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 Timothy 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
2 Timothy 2:11-12 11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Quickened, i.e., made alive in Christ
John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Ephesians 2:5-6 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Eternal life, life everlasting
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Here is something else that might help answer about eternal security.

A message of comfort from the Scriptures,
that we through patience and comfort
of the scriptures might have hope.
Come and hear, all ye that
fear God,
and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Psalms 66:16
