He that saith, I know him

Reaching forth...
By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...
He that saith, I know him
1 John 2:4 (KJV) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
There should be no encouragement offered to the one where they are obviously and habitually disobedient. John Baptist refused baptism of some that came to him for baptism, as they wanted the baptism but did not find a place for repentance. In our day, often the message is in effect, do your own thing, just trust as you will, and so those failing to show fruits of repentance are given false assurance by Baptist preachers that teach it is not needful to believe the word, it is not needful to be obedient in all things, walking worthy of the Lord in all pleasing, fruitful in every good work (Col 1:10). Ultimately, salvation is of the Lord, and He knows His own. Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity (2Tim 2:19). We are called with a holy calling, made partakers of the divine nature. We are not intended to continue in sin (Psalm 119:1-8; Rom 3:8; 6:1; 1Tim 6:3-5; 1John 2:4).

A message of comfort from the Scriptures,
that we through patience and comfort
of the scriptures might have hope.
Come and hear, all ye that
fear God,
and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Psalms 66:16
