There is a notion about man's free will that is often misunderstood I think. God has dealt with man various ways through the ages of time. From the creation till the fall, in the garden man was in a state of (1) innocence. Man by his will failed to live up to the glory of God and was banished from that paradise, and passed on to all mankind by the fall, a sin nature. God then dealt with men through their (2) conscience. This lasted till the flood and man failed, by their will, to live up to the glory of God. (3) Human government was established after the flood, and God dealt with man through this. Again men by their will failed. The (4) law was then given and that method of God dealing with man found man falling short, failing. With the law were many terrible threats, yet still man failed. The main thrust of the period of law lasted till the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, the (5) age of grace or church age. We are in this period now and we need only look around to see the miserable failure of man by their will. Man is a slave to sin. There is a future age coming, (6) the 1000 year Kingdom, when Christ will rule with a rod of iron, all the nations. This period will commence being with the Second Coming of Christ. Looking in our bible, we see that in that future time, man will have fallen short. Man by their will and strength always fails.

God has provided a new and better way than at the first. By the promise, and as shown more clearly with the age of grace, God saves men, Salvation is of the Lord.

As many as believe, are sealed with the Holy Spirit. This is not evidenced by outward manifestation but simply means Christ abides in you, the hope of glory (Romans 8:9, 11-14; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 1:13). The believer is in Christ, and Christ is in the believer (John 15:6; 17:23; Romans 8:10-11; 1 Corinthians 1:30; Ephesians 3:17; Philippians 3:9; John 6:44, 53-56; 65). If any man have not the Spirit of Christ in them, he is none of His.

Believers are kept by the power of God and unlike at the first when by our will we choose to turn away, now we are sealed. We are told, salvation, …is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. (Romans 9:16) We love Him, because He first loved us. As it is written, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10) This is not a forced love and certainly is not an insincere love.

Have you personally confessed to God that you yourself are a sinner, and asked Christ our Lord to save you? If you have not, don't delay. Believe, for it is Christ Jesus that saves. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Bible tells us...

Acts 13:48
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Ephesians 1:4-6
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Romans 9:16
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

There are some with a false faith, and not all that shall be saved are saved yet. There are many warnings in Scripture, to examine yourself, see if you are of the faith. This is because there is a false faith. Those that believe on the Name of the Son of God are given eternal life. That does not end. Christ died for our sins and we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

The believers are begotten by the Word, as faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God (Romans 1:16; 10:14, 17; 1 Cor 1:18; 1 Thess 2:13; 2 Thess 2:13-14; James 1:18; 1 Pet 1:23; 2:2) These are very important Scriptures to see.

Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 10:14, 17
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When we first believe we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, kept by the power of God:

Ephesians 1:13
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

1 Peter 1:5
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Romans 8:1-3
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Romans 8:9
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

We can have confidence and boldness because our God does not lie:

1 John 5:11-13
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Man by their will could never be saved (Romans 5:6). All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Salvation is of the Lord. With the Christian faith we can know our God, and more than that be known of Him, and trust that He has loved us and will save.

Our God is not beyond understanding and is not inconceivable. It is for believers to know and comprehend our God. God's attributes are presented clearly in Scripture. Believers need not submit, without knowing if they are saved, or are to be saved. Believers personally, themselves, can know God on an intimate level (John 10:14; 17:3; Ephesians 1:17; 2 Timothy 1:12; 1 John 1:1-3; Psalm 34:8).

John 10:14
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 17:3
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Ephesians 1:17
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

2 Timothy 1:12
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

1 John 1:1-3
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Psalm 34:8
8 O taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Our God is not beyond our being able to know Him. Religions that teach submission, but at the same time do not promise salvation at the end, making stress of the human will, our behavior the factor, is of the antichrist. The Christian faith is such that a person can know God, and know they are saved eternally.

We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Spread the tidings all around: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to every land, climb the mountains, cross the waves;
Onward! 'tis our Lord's command; Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Waft it on the rolling tide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Tell to sinners far and wide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing, you islands of the sea; echo back, you ocean caves;
Earth shall keep her jubilee: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Sing above the battle strife: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
By His death and endless life Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout it brightly through the gloom, when the heart for mercy craves;
Sing in triumph over the tomb: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Give the winds a mighty voice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Let the nations now rejoice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout salvation full and free; highest hills and deepest caves;
This our song of victory: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

For I came not to judge the world,
but to save the world.

John 12:47
