By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...

Some To Honour, And Some To Dishonour

What sort would hold sin as a fond thing after seeing these truths, after seeing the end (Ps 73).

Romans 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

Luke 20:17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Various persons have been writing me asking if a Christian should be concerned with works and what those works are that a Christian should be concerned with. The flip side of not working is if the Christian is not concerned with works then they are not concerned about sin (Isa 1:16-17; Luke 11:24-26). A person that is at peace with sin is not showing vital fellowship with our Lord. They are not in a safe place, and need to consider what the Bible has to say about sin. The ones that teach Christians need not be overly concerned with works, making reference to works being legalism as if our Lord saves us and gives approval that we could disregard what the word has to say about our walk with the Lord do not profit those that hear them. While we are not saved according to our works, we are called and saved to work (Eph 2:10). The one that encourages that we need not be concerned with being a doer of the word is deceived (Ezek 33:31; James 1:22-25).

Jeremiah 7:8-11
8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

A message of comfort from the Scriptures,
that we through patience and comfort
of the scriptures might have hope.

Come and hear, all ye that fear God,
and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Psalms 66:16
