Christ Died For Our Sins
Reaching forth...

By God's grace, still presenting the same old message from the same old Book...

There are different gospels being preached. Sometimes a gospel is preached that God loves each and every person just the same, and that Christ died for each and every person just the same [therefore some that Christ redeemed are in hell already and some that Christ redeemed will go to hell], for God simply leaves it up to man alone without any special influence on one person or another but they are saved only if they agree to allow God, or otherwise give their cooperation, i.e., salvation depends on man making the right decision, a gospel that stresses that salvation is the result of a man doing the right thing if they want to, and therefore resulting in God saving them because they did the right thing. That is a false gospel.

However popular a notion might be, what matters is what the Scriptures say.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

It is not often made clear, how the Bible says clearly, that Christ actually saves His own people, a sure salvation, an actual salvation of those which are chosen by the Father (Eph 1:4), and that Christ specifically died for (Matt 1:21; John 10:11, 14; 6:39, 44, 65).

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

Instead a false story is told of a god simply leaving it to man to do the right thing to make themselves saved. All man needs to do is get educated, make the right decision, their actions meritorious, and therefore God will be obligated to save them.

What should matter, what people should really be concerned with, is what the Bible actually has to say. The Bible does not present salvation as being accomplished based on what man does, but instead salvation is of the Lord. There is where a difference between what is referred to as Calvinism and what is called Arminianism is found. There is a difference between the gospel of the Bible and the message so popular in our day.

The Father chose some before the foundation of the earth and gave those to the Son; the Son died for those and those alone, and the Holy Spirit quickens those the Son died for, and those alone. Those chosen to salvation are actually saved, wholly by the will of God, not man, but God and God alone.

There are some which the Father gave to the Son, and Jesus actually saves those, and those alone:

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

John 17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

John 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Jesus is shown in the Bible to actually save His people

Christ came into the world to save sinners, and if a wretch such as I is saved, I do not say another could not be saved, if it were God's will.

From the Scriptures:

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

When a person is born again, it is not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man. It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Repentance and faith is a result of being born again; and being born again is not a result of repentance and faith. Salvation is of the Lord.

Romans 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Some turn back and walk no more with our Lord, but instead look for another way, another Jesus, but there is no other way:

John 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

There are many that have turned away and think to find another Jesus.

Daniel 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

John 5:21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

I say again, there are many that turn away and think to find another Jesus with another way of being saved. Some claim a god that cannot save unless man does the right thing. The Bible says unless God wholly by Himself saves them men will go to a sinners hell. "There are only two systems of theology. One of these gives all the glory to God, the other divides it with man" (J. W. Porter, Random Remarks (on election), p. 41). The new birth results in faith; salvation wholly the work of God. Ephesians 2:8 reads, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Faith does not result in the new birth; but the new birth creates faith. Ye must be born again.

Repent ye, and Believe The Gospel

KJB Ezek 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.

KJB Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

KJB 1 Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

KJB Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

KJB 2 Tim 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

KJB 2 Thess 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The precious blood of Christ is the only sufficient antidote for a wounded conscience. It is by new acts of faith in His blood that we experience afresh its virtue and efficacy. True, the believer feels the plague of his heart and groans under a body of sin and death, but this should not hinder him from believing - rather should it be an argument to encourage him in believing. The more conscious we are of our polluted condition, the more deeply should we realize our need of that open Fountain "for sin and uncleanness" (Zech. 13:1). "The dying thief rejoiced to see that Fountain in his day, and there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away." To it we should be constantly resorting. There is no danger whatsoever to be afraid of trusting that blood too much, or of having recourse to its cleansing too often - rather should we be afraid of trusting it too little. The more frequently we plead that blood before God the more Christ is honored. ~ A. W. Pink

A message of comfort from the Scriptures,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Come and hear, all ye that fear God,
and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Psalms 66:16
