Who Then Can Be Saved?

Who then can be saved? With men it is impossible, for it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, , not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man. This explains why there are no verses of Scripture that tell man any more than believe, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession of that is made. There is no Scripture to say ask Jesus in, do this work or that, there is no formula of supposed grace/works to be saved. Who then can be saved?

Mark 10:26-27
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Rom 10:13, 17
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Those that receive Him, those born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, such shall be saved. Have you received Christ as your savior, believing that He has redeemed you, dying for your sins? Believers are called out by the preaching of the gospel. There is no formula of things one must do to receive Christ, simply believe. The Spirit bears witness with your spirit, that you have been redeemed.

By the foolishness of preaching we believe, but the foolish crowd goes about to do one thing or another, trampling under foot the blood of Christ, enemies of the cross, claiming the difference is with men and the redemption by blood is nothing, that those redeemed include some to be in hell fire. Such unbelief is clearly shown, made manifest by the clear testimony of Scripture, for it is written,

John 6:37, 39
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 10:11, 14-15, 27-28
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 17:6-8
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

The order is first, receive Christ, born of God, made heirs of eternal life, with faith coming by hearing, for as many as were ordained to eternal life believe. Christ came into the world to save sinners, Christ died for sinners. Repent and believe the gospel or forever perish in your sins.

Hearing that Christ died for sinners, redeeming those that believe is not suitable for the sophisticated modern, that is no more than an unbeliever, seeking some thing they must do to be saved, be that begging like those worshipping Baal (1 Kings 18:27-28; Psalms 50:21), the deceivers that hate God and their neighbor, those that covet while corrupting the doctrine of Christ, that for filthy lucre gained from the worldly crowd, instead interested in the reward to feed their covetousness, or taking the name of the followers of Christ, while in sedition against our Lord, having no regard for obedience, making void God's Word by their own imaginations, the truth twisted to their own destruction (Jude 1:11; 2 Peter 2:12-15; 3:3, 16).

Jude 11
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

2 Peter 2:12-15
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

2 Peter 3:3, 16
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

But it pleased God, but not that wicked crowd, that by the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe. What comfort to the believer to know God has chosen them, Christ having died for them, but how confounding to the wicked ones going about to do one thing or another thinking that will save them, while all the time they will not come to the light.

1 Cor 1:21-24
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

There is a very popular notion among those thinking to make void the Scripture, that works are actually grace, if the things done are from Scripture. The heresy is presented that here are things for you to do, and that is grace, so continue doing them and by grace you are saved. But that is works. The death, burial and resurrection of Christ are made to be nothing, the many Scriptures that show Christ came to save His people, to die for His sheep, those before given Him by the Father, are mocked, hidden, and denied. Instead a series of works, twisted by the fleshly mind that has rejected Christ and His Word, renaming the unbelief grace. Salvation is presented as a process man is to do by these Christ rejecters, enemies of the cross of Christ. These are blind to the truth, deceived and going about to deceive.

If by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. You must be born again, born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Men go about prancing around doing one thing or another for salvation, but it is Christ that died for His sheep. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. The gospel is not a series of things for man to do, for it is Christ that died. You must be born again, born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Receiving Him, we become the sons of God, not by anything we have done, but all of grace.

John 1:12-14
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

We that by the foolishness of preaching are saved, believing that Christ died for us, having first loved us, in turn love God.

1 John 4:19
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

We that believe are sealed with the Holy Spirit, having been born again, of God. There is no other savior, and there is no other way of salvation.

1 John 4:13-19
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

Who then can be saved? Where are the ones that believe, the ones to be saved? They are the ones born again, for the Scripture tells us,

1 John 5:1
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

Those of the world go about trying one thing and another to overcome the fact they do not believe the testimony of Scripture. But the Scriptures cannot be broken. It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe. What have you done with the blood of Christ? Trampled it under foot in favor of your doing some thing that will only lead to hell? You must be born again, that of God. Salvation is of the Lord. Why do you count yourself unworthy of eternal life? God is longsuffering, but there will come a day when this life will be over for you. Why in pride do you turn from the light?

Do you reject the testimony of Scripture? Why do you mock the cross? Repent toward God, and believe the gospel. Christ died for sinners. He gives full salvation, complete, for as many as believe. His love is ours by grace, our having received Him, born into His family.

John 3:17-21
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Here is the gospel, as it is written,

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

It pleased God, that by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Christ Died for Us.

Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

1 Corinthians 1:18
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The gospel is not about things man must do, but is about what Christ has done. Christ died for His sheep. We love Him, because He first loved us.

Ps 65:4
4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Psalms 37:18-20
18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

Psalms 37:27-28
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Psalms 150:6
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
