"Simple acts of love and care keep the light of Christ burning."                                                                                                                                       -- Mother Teresa

Just as varied as her ministry is the home-life of each Sister of the Precious Blood. We're often asked if our Sisters still live in convents, and the answer in most cases is "no." The Sisters' ministries, the localities in which they live, and their personal lifestyles often dictate where they call "home."

We all live "in community" because we are all active members of a Community to which we are committed in many ways. Our living situations may vary according to place, necessity, etc. So, some Sisters live alone; some with other Sisters, lay workers, even relatives. Consider the home-life of Sister Elaine, who lives with her 89-year-old Mother in a condo in the suburbs of Cincinnati.

Some Sisters -- such as Sister Mary Louise who makes her home in a house trailer among the Navajo Indians in New Mexico -- live in the communities in which they work and even adopt the lifestyles of those whom they serve. Some Sisters -- such as Sister Pat who resides in an area close to water, beaches, and evergreens -- choose to set up house among the beauty and splendor of nature.

Where and how some of our Sisters live is helpful -- and even challenging -- to them.   They discover that where they live impacts their ministries as much as all they learn by living where they do.
