PERFORMANCE ART SHOW WHAT IS IT????Polly's performance art show is six 30 minute shows that were made originally for Dayton Access TV (DATV). It has been, as of December 2002, a six month project. It was shot on MiniDV and edited with ULEAD Video Studio Six on a Windows system. All performers worked (I am thankful) without pay.
Over the six month span of time there were many built in systems to where I would have outlets even if it was never finished. One was a Cliffhanger "Quantum Girl VS the Son of Mad Blaster and his sidekick Santa's Little Helper". The Cliffhanger was designed for five minutes or less for each episode. It is (first two episodes) on the internet in real player format. On my various web sites (various subjects ranging from poetry to philosophy) I get a million hits a year. Therefore I was guaranteed a world audience. The last two shows of "Polly" contain two original and one made for TV performance art pieces. These all could be put on the net if necessary. Parts of all three will be put on the net and perhaps all of two of them.
Polly's Performance Art Show is comedy but as in all my performance art pieces there are serious philosophical issues. Some overt and some hidden. I see the show as a combination of Monty Python, Wayne's World, and Koyaanisqatsi. As an Indie Purist I had total control. I was constantly aware as I was creating it that true art, high art, shows those that follow that this is valid also. Or it is OK to make art like this. All high art inspires others toward their own higher works. This one shows, more than anything else, what can be done as an Indie Purist.
