A Performance Artist is creating a world to play in. This is unlike a writer that creates only an abstract world in your mind and unlike a painter that creates a flat world that you can only enter with your mind. It is also unlike a musician in that he is merely creating a feeling in your mind with his music. Shakespeare has dominated theater for the past 300 plus years. It actually is an insult to our social order for us to allow this domination. Theater continues to give us this pro-Christian pro-capitalist outlook. It is time for him to go. It is time for a new look on what has happened and is happening in our social system. That is why "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was chosen as the title. The world that we now play in is not full of Kings and Knights. The world we now play in is Hell. We in America essentially work our life away so the Capitalist can remain in control. We buy stuff that we don't need and clutter the earth. We overstress ourselves in our daily lives. The audience participation in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" allows us to experience, with humor, the hell of our lives. It allows us to experience what we have done to the world as a Democratic state. Democracy is not the best social system and never was. The ancient philosophers that created it as a great social order owned slaves. Sure it will work if you have slaves to do all your work for you. Oh yea, that is where the Capitalism comes in. The Second Annual Error Worship Conference hosted by Chris Roesing and SSNova in Cincinnati Ohio was the ideal place for this Performance Art Piece to come together. It portrays the BIG error. The error of civilization. It emphasizes the great errors of the last century. These errors actually continue today. That is why "A Midsummer Night's Dream" needed to be created. The Midwest, specifically Cincinnati, was the ideal place for it to be done. Cincinnati is best known in the art world for arresting it's Museum Director over the Mapplethorpe photographs. Adolph Hitler is the symbolic bad guy. Not because I made him the bad guy but because the American education system has conditioned into the people that he is the great evil of the earth. I personally think Truman is far more evil. Truman disintegrated 20,000 plus at Hiroshima and another 20,000 plus at Nagasaki. I am not saying Hitler was a nice guy. What I am saying is that I am using the conditioning in your mind as a tool. I did not put that conditioning there. Whether it is true or not isn't important to me. It has been said that Christianity (war in the name of Christ) has killed more people than anything else on earth. Yet you are not conditioned by American Education to believe this or react to it. Therefore, I cannot use a cross. I must use a swastika. That is why we are dancing with Hitler instead of dancing with Jesus in our Hell. |
