RADIOACTIVE

RADIOACTIVITY INFORMATION FOR RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL GIVEN TO AUDIENCE AT "ERROR WORSHIP FESTIVAL" IN CINCINNATI, OHIO 14 JUNE 2002.

Picture at left shows the radioactive marble that is inside each sealed package.

The radioactive material given to the audience on 14 June 2002 at the Error Worship Festival held at the SSNova  from the performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" should not be dangerous.  It can be shipped by USPS and has a reading of around .3mR or less on a geiger counter.  According to http://www.atomicrocks.com/html/safety.html Here are some general guidelines.  Go to the site for specific guidelines.

1.  Handle radioactive material as little as possible

2.  If you touch radioactive material you should wash your hands with soap and water

3.  Do not store in an inhabited room

4.  Store in ventilated area

5.  Keep away from children

6.  Don't eat

7.  Label all radioactive material

According to my math (never trust anyone's math) You could [BUT DO NOT] hold this .3mR or less in your hand for around 25 days and be within the normal exposure range according to Government regulations.  Meaning that Industry can expose you to this for 25 days before anyone cares.  The regulations also set a limit for Radiation workers.  It is much higher than consumers.  A .3mR could be held for 125 days by a radiation worker and (according to the regulators) nothing would happen to him.  (meaning he would not get sick or anything)
