Publications designed and intended to provide specifications on the ships and devices seen on the shows.
The Granddaddy of them all. A meticulously created deck-by-deck layout for the original Enterprise (imagine working out corridor access with those horizontal turbolift shafts getting in the way), although labelling it "Constitution"; after the class ship (or prototype) allows a degree of deniability.
A broader look at the Federation and Starfleet. Includes command structure, uniforms, hand equipment, and, for my purposes, the shuttlecraft, additional ship designs, and the Star Fleet Headquarters Starbase.
Fills in gaps of the Franz Joseph manual and covers ships and shuttlecraft of the animated series.
A starship oriented combat game based on TOS. Beginning from McMaster blueprints of the Klingon and Romulan ships and the licensed Franz Joseph designs, created additional ships to fill out the fleets. Original designs for the Gorns and the Orion pirates, and, eventually for some new races on the far side of Klingon and Romulan territory. Visual detail is sparsely distributed among their product line, but "simulator" testing of these ships provides interesting technical insights.
Exteriors of the ships seen in the first motion picture, the Enterprise refit, Klingon K't'inga, Long-Range Shuttle, Work Bee and Travel Pod; and the Klingon and Enterprise bridges. Brief notes on the refit.
Movie era updates to the uniforms, hand equipment, and smallcraft formatted as a tour of the refit Enterprise. Compartment layouts are based on the set construction blueprints. Includes the Standard Shuttlecraft; a smaller version of the Long-Range "Vulcan" Shuttle and an inboard profile showing deck elevations of the Enterprise, but not complete deck-by deck plans (no doubt to avoid placing those turboshafts).
Discussion of the state of the Fleet in 2290-91 (the Movie Era) followed by
an in-depth, class-by-class examination of the various Cruisers and Frigates.
Classifies the Reliant as a Heavy Frigate with a counterpart Knox-Class
Light Frigate and a Surya-Class Frigate using TOS technology from which the
class evolved. Covers Franz Joseph's three production runs of the
Constitution-Class Heavy Cruiser as seperate sub-classes prior to the
Enterprise (ST:TMP) refit. Adds his own Cruiser design, the Belknap,
with great detail.
The introduction speaks of three volumes (and a Guide to the Klingon Fleet!)
but I have only ever seen the second volume.
A thorough examination of one class of ship, the Akyazi, that is divided into three design sub-groups.
Published as a 40-page journal from the 23rd Century. Articles are on the Belknap (and its precursor, the Decatur); updating the Dreadnoughts to movie era technology; the Klingon K'teremny Destroyer; and the proposed Starfleet Menahga-Class Battlecruiser.
Picking up where Guenther leaves off (they borrow his Belknap, Ascension, and Knox) this book shows Franz Joseph's Destroyer and Scout updated to movie era technology as well as a further Warlord-Class Heavy Destroyer.
A reformat of Starfleet Officer Requirements with some finer lineart. Missing some of that volume's prototype starships, some have been moved into the fleet strength list.
Ingram is a modification of the Excelsior to be a Space Control Ship. It features a modified primary and secondary hull and different nacells. Features five views and an inboard profile and a three-view size comparison with the Enterprise refit cruiser.
More fleet ships, many not seen anywhere else. When I was young and inpecunious, I thought the Romulan volume too expensive for the designs in it. Now it cannot be found.
Large pullout schematic of the Enterprise-D plus views of the Klingon Bird of Prey and the Romulan scout vessel from "The Defector"
Their explanation of the Enterprise-D. There are many schematics, but no scale given, although clues can be found for the overall dimensions. Includes shuttlecraft, the captain's yacht, and proposed future starships.
The powers-that-be finally yield to fan pressure and locate all those turbolift shafts!
Not as technically in-depth, these publications point to the source material.
These publications offer initial and alternative ideas brought up in production of the shows. Often springboards for fans' additions.
