ST. JOHN PARISH NEWS
THANKSGIVING FOOD COLLECTION—The CALL food pantry is in need of
food (non perishable item). All CCD students are asked to bring a non
perishable item to the CCD class on November 19th. The 8th thru 12th
grade students bring your items to church and grades 1st thru 7th to
your CCD class. Your support is very much appreciated in helping those
in need.
CERTIFICATION OF ST. JOHN CCD TEACHERS—The following teachers
from St. John’s completed the “Prayer Workshop” which counts towards
“Basic Certification” for CCD teachers: Kelli Albers, Kelley Budde, Ann
Garmann, Jamie Heitkamp, Kathy Heitkamp, Barb Kahlig, Jim Keller, Audrey
Subler, Bonnie Tangeman, Anne Thobe, Patti Thobe, Elaine Wolters, and
Michelle Michalak. The following teachers completed the “St. Paul
Workshop” which counts towards “General” or “Advanced” certification for
CCD teachers: Angela Bertke, Julie Brunswick, Brenda Buening, Jane Feltz,
Ashley Minnich, Joyce Moeller, Tracey Osterloh, Kim Poeppelman, Maria
Rethman, Ruth Rutscilling, Hope Rethman, and Linda Thieman.
Congratulations to all these teachers for completing these courses.
ST. JOHN, ST. ROSE AND NATIVITY CCD STUDENTS— CCD for
students in grades 8th thru 12th from St. John, St. Rose and Nativity
will be having their CCD class on Wednesday, November 19th at 7pm at St.
John church. Angie Crider will be sharing her story about abortion.
Angie is one of the speakers for Silent No More, a national pro-life
group. She was one of the featured speakers at the National Right to
Life March in Washington, D.C. last January. Angie will focus her talk
to the teens. All students must have permission form signed and
returned. The students will be sitting in the front of church. Anyone is
welcome to attend. Please sit in the back of church to hear Angie’s
story.
NEW MINISTRY SCHEDULES—The new ministry schedules for St. John
are available to be picked up in the back of St. John church. Please
take a copy home with you.
ANGEL TREE—The opportunity to make Christmas brighter for many
less fortunate children will again be possible through the annual Angel
Tree program. Please select a gift tag from the tree located in the back
of St. John church and sign out the number on the sheet of paper. Please
return the gift UNWRAPPED by Sunday, December 7th to St. John church.
ST. JOHN CYO POINSETTIAS—St. John CYO will again be selling
poinsettias. The cost for each poinsettia will be $11.00 each. Please
contact any CYO member to place your order. Proceeds will be given the
CALL Food pantry and the CYO fund.
ST. ANNE’S LADIES SODALITY CHRISTMAS PARTY—
Will be Tuesday, December 2nd at the Maria Stein Legion at 7pm. Ladies
are to bring a covered dish. Any members 80 and over do not have to pay
dues or do not have to bring a covered dish to the party. Ladies
Sodality Dues are $5.00 and you may use your envelope in the collection
box to pay dues or pay at the Christmas party. Any questions, please
contact Cindy Moeder at 419-925-4992.
