DESCRIPTION OF TOURS AND ACTIVITIES
We offer several different tours, classes and workshops throughout the year. We can accommodate a large group of individuals including garden clubs, bird watchers, or special interest groups. Reservations must be made in advance and preregistration payment is required in full. Individuals may sign up for all the activities listed, until we book enough people to fill a class or workshop. HERBAL COOKING CLASS - This class will be taught by a well known chef and will include the preparation of a full course meal. Persons enrolled in this class will be able to sample the prepared food.
MEDICINAL HERB CLASS - This class will introduce the individual to the history and use of herbal plants as medicine. Some classes will be taught by experienced herbalists, who can recommend medicinal plants to improve health.
DECORATIVE WORKSHOP - This workshop will include decorating a dried flower wreath or swag and many other herbal projects.
BIRD WALK - On this walk we will be observing nature at its best. Trails on the property include wooded trails and trails in meadows and fields. Seventy-three species of birds have been sited on these trails.
NATURE WALK- This tour will identify wildflowers and medicinal herbs that are used in herbal medicine. There will also be nature walks to identify wild edible plants. According to the time of year, you will be able to observe many different species in the meadows, woodlands and in a natural prairie setting.
TOUR OF THE GARDENS - There are many theme gardens including culinary, medicinal, decorative herbs and many flower gardens throughout the property.
