| Having wanted a dog for a long time, I did some research on the internet about different breeds. I knew I wanted a relatively small dog and considered both the Shih Tzu and Jack Russell Terrier breeds. But once I found the Havanese, I was hooked!!!

| I joined an egroups list for the Havanese breed and thru that list met some wonderful people. One of those wonderful people happened to be a breeder in Toledo, Ohio (a 2 hour drive for me).

| I went to a dog show in Hamilton Ohio on Memorial Day weekend (2000) to actually meet a Havanese. The people there were wonderful and answered any questions I had. Poor Mary Anne thought I was going to walk away with her YoYo. I didn't tho! The next weekend I attended a show in Toledo where I met Kim (Pepper's breeder) in person. She asked if I had found a puppy yet, to which I responded "No". She proceeded to tell me that she had a male puppy available. She emailed me a picture and it was love at first sight. The next Monday, I drove to Toledo to pick up my little bundle of joy!! And, it has been a joyride ever since ;)
