


The Ottoville Local School District is located in southwestern Putnam County, Ohio. The Music Department provides music education and performance opportunities for the approximately 490 students in grades K-12 within the district. Performing arts classes include 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, Junior High Band, High School Marching and Concert Bands, and High School Chorus. Elementary General Music classes meet once or twice weekly depending on grade. Music 8 classes meet daily in 12-week blocks. All students in grades K-6 perform in at least one program each year.
Cocurricular and extracurricular opportunities include marching band, pep band, and the high school musical in the spring. The "Big Green Pride" Marching Band performs in several parades, county fairs, band shows and OMEA adjudicated events each year. This group has entertained crowds in New York City (1988), Washington, D.C. (1992 and 2000), Toronto, Canada (1996 and 2004), and Chicago (2008.)
